Aramark (ARMK) has a surprisingly compact food-supply map. Sysco (SYY) is not just one distributor among many: Aramark’s filing gives it a 43% share of U.S. and Canadian purchase dollars, while also calling the relationship important and more than 40 years old.
The number comes from Aramark’s fiscal 2025 10-K, which describes Sysco as the channel for nearly half of the company’s food and non-food purchasing in the region.
"In fiscal 2025, Sysco distributed approximately 43% of our food and non-food products in the United States and Canada based on purchase dollars, and we believe that we are one of their largest clients."

In plain English, Aramark says Sysco distributed approximately 43% of what Aramark bought in those markets. The filing also says Aramark is one of Sysco’s largest clients, creating a relationship that runs in both directions: Sysco is a major channel for Aramark’s purchases, and Aramark is a large account for Sysco.
Aramark separately describes Sysco as a supplier, alongside US Foods (USFD), Performance Food Group (PFGC), and regional distributors.
"Although we negotiate the pricing and other terms for the majority of our purchases of food and related products in the United States and Canada directly with national manufacturers, we purchase these products and other items through national distributors and…"

The distinction matters for the map. Aramark negotiates with manufacturers, but most purchasing still runs through distributors. The filing does not name a single source for every item. It does identify Sysco as the only distributor with a disclosed purchase-dollar share.
Aramark puts the broader distributor list plainly:
"We purchase most products and other items through food service distribution companies, including Sysco Corporation ("Sysco"), US Foods, Performance Food Group and other regional distributors."

That leaves US Foods and Performance Food Group in the network, but without a percentage attached. Sysco is the only distributor for which Aramark supplies a purchase-dollar share in the disclosed relationships.
The partnership itself is older than many of the contracts and companies that populate today’s outsourcing economy.
"Our relationship with Sysco is important to our operations, and we have had distribution agreements in place for over 40 years."

Aramark also names Compass (COMP), Delaware North, and Sodexo as competitors in its U.S. segment.
"In our United States segment, our external competitors include other multi-regional food and support service providers, such as Compass Group plc, Delaware North Companies Inc. and Sodexo SA."

The rest of the disclosed map is less concentrated. Aramark identifies JPMorgan Chase (JPM) among the lenders to Aramark International Finance and its guarantors. Separately, Cintas (CTAS) and Insight Enterprises (NSIT) name Aramark as a partner in their own filings. Those disclosures add counterparties, but not additional percentages or terms in the supplied records.
The cleanest description of Aramark’s disclosed web is therefore not “many vendors.” It is one major distributor, two additional named distributors, a four-decade agreement history with Sysco, a familiar group of service-sector competitors, and a lender relationship sitting beside it all.
