Liberty Live's three-month revenue more than doubled, from $63.6 million to $147.1 million. The operating loss nearly disappeared too, shrinking from $16.7 million to $944,000 for the three months ended June 30.
That is the clean version of the latest 10-Q. The less tidy number is net income: Liberty Live still lost $268.7 million, compared with a $294.1 million loss in the comparable three-month period. Operating margin improved to negative 0.6% from negative 26.2%, but the bottom line barely moved by comparison.
The difference matters because Liberty Live is not just an operating company. It also owns a large market-sensitive investment, so reported earnings can remain far removed from the performance of the business producing the revenue.
The company puts a dollar figure on that exposure:
"This security is also subject to market risk that is not directly reflected in our financial statements, and had the market price of such security been 10% lower at June 30, 2026, the aggregate value of such security would have been $1.275 billion lower."
Liberty Live, 10-Q filed Aug. 6, 2026.
That is not a forecast or a reported loss. It is a sensitivity calculation, and it is large relative to the $9.2 billion market capitalization. It also helps explain why a near break-even operating result does not translate neatly into a near break-even company result.
Liberty Live names the holding directly:
"The Company is exposed to changes in stock prices primarily as a result of our significant holding in Live Nation (an equity method affiliate)."
Liberty Live, 10-Q filed Aug. 6, 2026.
The filing does not assign the $268.7 million net loss to one specific driver. It does show two businesses in the same set of numbers: an operating line that moved sharply toward break-even and an investment position whose disclosed sensitivity is $1.275 billion for a 10% price move.
Cash adds another restraint to the simple growth reading. The balance was $523.3 million at June 30, down from $524.4 million in the comparison. Revenue rose 131.2%, but cash was essentially unchanged, and diluted shares were nearly flat at 92.6 million.
Debt adds a separate variable. Liberty Live says its borrowing mix can include fixed- and floating-rate instruments used to maintain liquidity and fund operations, meaning the balance sheet carries both market-price exposure through the Live Nation holding and interest-rate exposure through financing.
The company's own annual results provide some operating continuity: revenue rose 12.2% in 2025 to $382.0 million, while operating margin improved from negative 34.1% in 2024 to negative 13.5%. The latest three-month period extends that operating improvement, even as net income remained well below operating income.
Liberty Live's next quarterly report will provide the next direct comparison for operating income, net loss, cash, and the disclosed market-value sensitivity on the Live Nation holding.
Liberty Live is nearing operating break-even while its reported results remain exposed to market prices, according to its 10-Q.
